NHHS Wrestling Reunion
On September 4th 2010 we are having a special alumni reunion in Radcliff, KY. It will consist of coaches, wrestlers, matmaids, matmaid sponsors, and managers. These will include all years, starting from 1964 to present. The planned afternoon event will be from 12:00 to 3:00 and be held in the NHHS gymnasium with doors opening at 10:00 AM. We will be reaching out to the public and welcoming them to join us in this celebration and reunion of esteemed alumni.
We will present a history of NHHS wrestling achievements, in a video and picture collage. We have talked with all the past coaches, including the founder of our wrestling program, Dr. Jim Brant. We have a full line up of coaches who have verbally expressed their desire to come, including Coach Jim Brant, Coach Dan Walker, Coach Bruce Douty, Coach Charlie Lynch, Coach Dave Lawson, Coach Jim Smith, Coach Jerry Jones, Coach Paul Underdonk, Coach Darryl Farmer, and others. It will highlight past greats from the State Champion teams of 1968, 1969, 1978, and 1981, as well as all the storied wrestlers who have been a part of the Trojan wrestling tradition. We will have awards and recognition for a few individuals who made an impact on the program and it's future success. We are undertaking a fundraising effort to help make this a reality and reestablish our wrestling influence on the regional and state tournament level. We plan to have local press coverage of the event and maybe even national exposure of this once in a lifetime event!
Following the school ceremony, we will have an evening "Roast & Toast" at The Leaders Club, located in Fort Knox, KY. This will be from 7:00-1:00, and include a dinner buffet and live entertainment.
